My Weekend Summary in Pictures

I am exhausted... and basically have nothing significant to say because al I did was shop... {tough life, right?} Ha, but it wasn't big bucks shopping- just the typical day(s) out with Indie hitting up our Target/TjMaxx/Ross. I just want to show you SOME of my goodies {because some things like a bathroom scale and shaving creme aren't worth sharing!}

Let me just share my Apple story before the pictures:

June 2010: Even though my MacBook was working just fine (I'm typing on it now), I decided I wanted bigger/better. I had the itch. I splurged and bought the 15" Macbook Pro
July 2010: Hard drive on the BRAND NEW MBP crashed. Tried replacing. No luck
August 2010: Apple sent me a replacement and I sent the "new" crashed one back
December 2010: New MBP kept acting funny and screen would mess up. Went in to Apple and had the logic board replaced.
January 2010: Same screen messing up. Went in and had them "try and fix it"
"               "   : Came home and the minute I had it turn on saw all this white writing on a black screen. AKA Kernal Panic mode. Thought my comp was about to take off it was wheezing and huffing and puffing like me at the gym. Took it BACK to Apple, they kept it for 2 days and gave it back wiped clean of everything.
"               "  : Yep. Again.

So, I made an Apple Appt this Saturday and may or may not have attached a demanding comment with it... something like "fix this or else..." haha ok not really. but really.

It took five minutes. My Apple Genius spoke the magic words, "I'm going to fix this for you."

and that was it. He left me standing there thinking, "yeah, i've heard that before...5x..." and then suddenly, he came out from the back with a brand new MBP. I was so happy I could've hugged him. He could tell. I was so so so thankful. Just the fact that a laptop less than 6 months old had a history of going in almost once a month to be fixed, made me feel like I had a fluke. Even with them fixing them I couldn't help being annoyed and irritated that I've never taken my MacBook in for anything internal (only had a new case and new keys), but with the MBP I felt like I was always holding my breath hoping nothing would go wrong when I would boot it up. The MB is still going strong and I got it sophomore year of undergrad, so maybe you win some you lose some?

Any way. On to the pics. haha

FRIDAY:

Dr. Appt/Apple Appt
Ordy Boy was so sweet and worked from home so he could take me... He waited 2 hours for me. I love him.

I tried to milk as much pity from Ordy with this bandaid. I had him almost turn the car to Toys r us haha

Doesn't Bandit look like a baby horse after they're born haaaaa
SATURDAY:
 Apple Appt/Mall/Target
I'm too intimidated to open it. HA!

I have been looking for a utensil caddy forever and when I saw this, it screamed my name...

How STINKING CUTE is this shower curtain? I think if I had a baby girl, she would have a shabby chic room with mirrored furniture, light green walls, and these as curtains...

I'm apologizing in advance for 1) the awful QUALITY of the pictures (iphone) and 2) the awful QUANTITY of the pictures. I'm.so.obsessed.I went snap happy. I took pics to share with my sister and friends :) And Ordy of course {he likes it}

This AMAZING duvet cover set from Target (similar one here in khaki)  I LOVE the texture it brings to the bed! I love how it doesn't matter if it's wrinkled when it comes out of the wash- it adds to the charm! I love even more that I can put my comforter sewing dreams on the back burner until the summer :)

I also bought 2 new pillows for my new King Size shams! LOVE!

the unmade bed this morning- i just love how it looks!!!
Please look at the price... $41. That's $130 cheaper than Urban/Anthro and $75 cheaper than me buying  fabric...
Ok, enough with the comforter. I just can't believe my luck. I bought the only one in the store, the COLOR (white) I wanted in the size (KING) I wanted for the price (CHEAP) that I NEEDED! Thank you Lord for that one... We went to another Target that night and looked for another one and they didn't have one. I mean, talk about lucky. I still can't get over it...

I found Say Yes to Tomatoes conditioner at Ross for $2.99!! AND IT WAS JUST in my cart at Target for $8.99 before I remembered I had seen it at Ross... I went back to the Ross and scooped it up. That is a steal. (I don't care how many bottles I currently have. It was a miracle I didn't buy all the ones they had. I'm learning. Slowly)

HOW DARLING are these Grey Fleece pillows? I have so many tutorials downloaded on my computer to one day cut out my own circles and create a pillow... but why when you can just find them at your Ross for way cheaper than the materials would have probably cost (plus time...) I got these for $8 each! AH! SO CUTE!

Other cute Ross finds (that I didn't buy but thought I'd share):

Disguise an old, ugly, plastic toilet scrub- yes please!

White lacquer tray with silver detail? Love.

Adorable storage with handles and bow for all those Country Living magazines taking over my living room? I'll take one.

GREY lacquer tray for the bedroom? I'll take them both. haha (I even like the boxes on the second shelf)

SO cute. ahh. so me. haha but the price was not. I couldn't see me spending $25 on these lil guys when I knew I could DIY "someday" ha

My last awesome purchase of the weekend (though small) is one of my favorites. I finally found my old face wash at Ulta today! BASIS face wash. And duh, I had to get the wipes just because they were too cute. This stuff smells so clean/fresh!

And that's that! Besides the small necessities that's pretty much all I scooped up this weekend. My top faves: New laptop (haha), duvet, and pillows! LOVE!

Please bare with me and the blog construction! I accidentally deleted my old header and when the MBP went back, so did all my fonts/images I had saved on it! I learned a valuable lesson in backing up. Especially since I spent Thursday night awake until 4 a.m. downloading as much as I could to replace  the last time I took my comp to Apple and lost everything. Oh well, such is life!

Cozy at Home

It's almost NYE and what am I doing? Sitting on Ordy Boy's couch in my pajamas- and wouldn't have it any other way! You couldn't pay me to leave the house, let alone be surrounded by millions of {probably drunk and sloppy} people... only because I'd hate to be on the roads with drunk drivers! This is going to be a random post but stick with me :) I'm getting BACK into the groove of updating! haha

If you were a fly on the wall at Ordy Boy's house... this is what you would see:
Yep, that's Ordy's way of decorating. It's pretty darn cute how he decorates his house {how he actually cares and makes it him". So manly/cabin/rustic. It's gonna be interesting to see "our" house one day... hahaha. I figured I show so many pics of my house that you readers might like to see HIS!

We couldn't have had better weather on Dec 31! Ordy Boy and I planned on spending the last day of 2010 enjoying the day outside "tinkering" as he calls it. He cleaned out his garage while I broke in my new Christmas present - a new sander for my projects! I am such a nerd... but I had so much fun out there with him- doing all the manual labor MYSELF, thank you very much :)

I'll give you a sneak peek of the projects {I am 1/2 way done sanding- after doing it ALL day! tomorrow is more sanding and finally painting!):

On another note, I wanted to show you the comforter I'm obsessed with. I know I showed you in a previous post, but I'll refresh your memory:

I couldn't decide on white or grey but I think my room has too much grey to compete with this grey so I will probably get white... While explaining to my BFF how much I love this comforter she responded, "Oh my gosh! I love it! I'll ask for it for Christmas!"... and that she did! This is her rubbing in her new comforter...

She probably thinks I deleted these pictures when she was being a brat and making me jealous- but this is payback :) hahahaha seriously though- HOW cute is it?! This is my 2011 sewing project... I might be biting off more than I can chew- but we'll see!

Have you seen these soap dispensers from Target?? I AM OBSESSED! I couldn't even contain myself when I saw them...  I tried to find them online for y'all to click a link but I couldn't so you're gonna have to see them on Ordy's shelf :)

I also picked up some J.R. Watkins WIPES! um, hello. I love everything by them. him. whatever.

and zoomed out so you can see Ordy's decor while we're at it... Ha Ha

Here are pics from earlier this evening- before we put on our jammies!

Obviously, he thinks this is a joke...

And THAT is the last picture Ordy and I took for 2010!!! Can't wait to see the first in 2011 :) Happy New Year to everyone!! If you missed it here are my resolutions!

Thursday Things

This week's Thursday Things I Love!

1.) Mason Jar Soap Dispenser. These have been popping up all over the cute crafty blogs. I can't decide if i want to try making one or just buying one of off Etsy...

2.) OPI Over the Taupe Polish. It was a tie between this color and Lincoln Park After Dark, but this won because I have been thinking about it a lot. It was further confirmed the winning color when I approached a stranger to ask what color was on her nails- and it was this :)

3.) Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin Soap and Lotion Dispenser with Caddy. Ordy Boy got me this duo 2 years ago as a random-i've-been-thinking-about-you-and-went-to-the-mall-on-my-lunch-break gift. I LOVE it. smells so amazing and I am thinking about getting one for the upstairs bathroom.

4.) Chandeliers. After Ordy Boy bought me the amazing one (pictures of it hanging soon) it's been all I've been thinking of. How to mount it, how to wire it, etc. Thankfully my brother in law and Ordy put it up for me while I was in class today.

5.) Caramel Apples. I love fall. I love farms and orchards and pumpkin patches and all that goodness. mmm.

6.) B&BW Leaves Candle. LOVE THIS SCENT! it makes my house smell incredible!

7.) Mirrored Furniture. I have been googling these things forever. I dunno, just praying/wishing/thinking/dreaming for it to be on sale. It's definitely going on my future vision board...

8.) Mirrors. If you know me, you know I love mirrors. Like whoa. I google them, look on Craigslist for them, and even buy two at a time even when they don't have a home in my home... (I did that this past weekend and both mirrors are under my bed... i think i'm sick?)

Hope you enjoyed!!!

Trendy Dreams

I went shopping for a total of ohhhh 8 hours today. You could say I shopped like it was my job... ok, maybe it wasn't 8 hours... but it was close to it. I have been looking everywhere for a bag I saw in France, and I told myself I would treat myself to it in the states, because I'd be saving with the exchange rate. It wasn't worth me getting anything for the price overseas...Especially since we have everything here. Anyhow, I bought the purse, and I'm in love. I want to go to bed with it as close as possible, maybe I'll have good dreams with me wearing it... Trendy dreams. It's my 4th Tory bag and I luff it. I would so much rather buy her bags than her shoes, because I have so many pairs of shoes at least the bags won't be neglected OR give me blisters (which I find her flats to do...)

Speaking of neglected... I need help. My closet has gotten so scary. I dread walking into it. There's just so much STUFF packed in. It used to be an organized cramming of clothes, now it's just a sloppy mess of random clothes. I find myself putting things in my spare bedroom/office closet. I can't find it in me to get rid of my "skinny" clothes because 1.) they're so darn expensive I would never make half of what I paid even on eBay 2.) I am determined to get back in them... but then I face the dilemma of what to do with my current "chubby" clothes!!! I have EQUALLY as expensive stuff making me NOT won't to shed the weight... ahaha ok that's a lie, I'd do anything to lose weight and reward myself with a smaller size... but still, it would hurt a little to lose weight and give up my designer denim that fit me now. I have a sickness. I brought out HALF of the jeans I own and I practically covered my bed... I am writing this so you can make fun of me and help me seek a road to treatment... I am obsessed with jeans! And yet, my weight is in this funky stage where I HATE to wear them because of the 'muffin top'. So... I need to hustle and get my butt back into these things.

Seriously?

If my dad reads this, he. will. shoot. me. <-- not kidding. He had a conniption one year when Sher made him buy me True Religions for Christmas 4 years ago. He said he they had better be stitched with gold and make me coffee in the morning for that price... But then again... kettle...pot... this is the guy who shoved my step mom out of the walk-in closets (yes, both) in the masters, the spare bedrooms, and his office, full of his clothes. If I'm lyin', I'm dyin'. The man had 5 closets and counting. Jam packed. Shoes out the wazoo. I guess that's who I take after... I love it though because when he even mentions how much I have, I just remind him who has more closets than his wife... than Sarah Jessica Parker for that matter. Unlike most dads who dread shopping, my dad loved it. Sher and I were so so so so lucky to have him as a dad. It's weird to hear men avoiding malls like the plague. I seriously had to be rewired to realize guys hate malls. It was so foreign to me, since my dad absolutely loved shopping. I still give Ordy a hard time if he can't last two hours...

My shoes in my closet... whole 'nother story... I have about 3 crammed on each other per shelf, and all the way shoved in the back. I found 3 pairs of shoes today, while looking for a different, that I don't even remember when I bought them or anything else but I seriously caught myself laughing thinking, 'oh, these are cute!' DUH they're cute... I mean not that you might think they're cute, but obviously I think they're cute to buy them at one point... I dunno, I made myself chuckle. But the sad point? That I own ALL these shoes, shoes I've thrown hissy fits over and spent who knows how much on, and yet EVERY DAY I wear my Havaiana flip flops that I spent $3 on
in Brazil. WHAT is WRONG with ME?!

Only the LEFT side of my closet... Walk in side on RIGHT

25% of my shoes. 75% elsewhere in tubbies/organizers in other side

Something is clearly wrong. I need an intervention. The last time I had an intervention, I was staring at a closet with about 30% of it having tags on the clothing... and the intervention was no more buying clothes until I lose weight. Did it work? Yes!! I have DRASTICALLY cut the clothes shopping... but the plan BACKFIRED because I am loading up on things that weight won't interfere with... like purses, watches, sunglasses, and shoes. I won't even start talking about jewelry. (Don't worry 90% of my jewelry consists of Forever 21 costume jewelry- but I buy so much random crap I don't remember what I buy or where I put them because I justify that it was ONLY $3.80).

I need to get to bed. I want to get to bed, but I have about 4 loads of clean laundry that don't have space in my closet or dresser. This is what put me in this panicked mood. Where did all this stuff come from?? And to think, two months ago, I took over Ordy Boy's guest bedroom closet for stuff to keep there. Ugh. I'm in a purging mood, but I'm a hoarder. I can't get rid of anything. Not even that xs polo shirt from high school and those size 2 shorts... I'll fit in them one day, right? Not a chance. Bleh. Just the thought of emptying and getting rid of stuff in my closet makes me nauseous- the process. I just want to close my eyes and have someone do it- because I obviously don't even know what's in there- ignorance is bliss...

Ordy Boy will be here at 8 am tomorrow morning so we can hit up some Estate Sales... like I need anything else... We're just doing it for the fun of it, not really on a mission for anything. I need to get some rest...

Just know that I'm going to crawl in bed with my new bag on my shoulder- not because I love it so, but because I'm terrified my closet will swallow it.
