Ok, so after my week of stressing last week, (because of how nervous I was to meet these lovely ladies) and leaving my entire house a wreck... these are the outfits I actually wore. It was a miserably cold and rainy Saturday in Arizona (just my luck, right?) so HALF the outfits I packed just sat in my suitcase (of course I overpacked...)

Before I post pics and outfits I HAD to share a sweet Ordy Boy moment! (Since this blog is about us, it's only fair, right?!)

Ordy travels Mon-Friday and I was sad I would miss him since I flew out Thursday morning... It would mean 2 weeks of not seeing him. I was home straightening my frizzball hair when I heard my doorbell ring Wednesday night around 11pm... It was my adorable Ordy Boy who caught the last flight out of Dallas to hand deliver my Wednesday Dozen and wish me well on my first "big girl trip all alone!" <-- his words... He wanted to "see me off properly"... I was pleasantly shocked as I had just made arrangements with his roommate to take me to the airport Thursday morning!

I deliberately wanted to wear a "loud" shirt as my airport outfit because I wanted it to be easy to find my roommate (whom I had never met before!) I actually tweeted her this same exact picture so she could find me! Great minds think alike because she wore stripes as well!

A rainy day in Arizona, thank goodness Ordy told me to pack my rain jacket!

I promise... He's normal. I don't know how to prove it... but you'll just have to trust me! That's the face I got... but that's what I'll post if he keeps giving it! Love him and was so happy to see him!

Valentine's Decor

In case you haven't noticed from the last two posts here and here ...

This might surprise those of you who actually know me in real life... because I hate the color pink. I know, I know. Crazy talk. Stick with me here, I'm about to get crazier... I don't like chocolate. *GASP* I know.

I know I just laid down some make-or-break terms... hopefully we can still be friends?

Things I DO love about Valentine's Day:

Speaking of getting dolled up... How Valentine's Day are these: (I know a lot of people WON'T like them, but they are SO girly, so frilly, so ruffly, sooooo pretty! I don't wear heels but I can appreciate a pretty one!)

I just love how every one is cheesy. Like, Ordy and I are lovey-dovey all the time- 99% of the time it's nice to see others in the same mood. I just said 99% of the time because the 1% he is probably rolling his eyes at me and giving me a hard time for storing my yard sale finds in his garage... I'm pretty hard to love then :)

I decorated my house a little. It's hard to find non-pink things, but the occasional pink decor doesn't bother me. I might have to pick some up on sale this year the day after! I decorated my house 2 weeks ago, but waited until now so you couldn't judge me. But by disclosing that, it's too  late- isn't it?

This isn't really a Valentine's Day decoration, BUT, it is super cute and worth sharing. Ordy went to an antique mall one weekend (without me, nerd!) and knows my obsession with milk glass and scooped this prize up for me. I was so so so happy. I think it's gonna be adorable with pink and red m&m's, but since I didn't have any, winter oreos will do!

I printed these out, taped them on burlap scrap paper, and framed them in these $1 yard sale frames (I painted primer gray)...

My sister's friend made her these flower bordered mirrors and I have had them for YEARS... I pull them out every Christmas/Valentine's Day... The gold tray was a X-mas sale find from Target ($7) and the tray is holding: candles and Valentine's Day Dog Cookies (in heart and bone shapes!)

And of course, this Wednesday's Dozen! Gorgeous "Football" Mums! In yellow (he knows me well) and white (he REALLY knows me well)...

Hope y'all are having as much fun as I am with all this decorating! It's a romantic touch in the house, and I absolutely love it. I'm glad I got the decoration out early enough because I want to be able to enjoy it!

A Vase

A SMALLER vase that fits in the larger one with enough space (half an inch) to create a wall of hearts- Preferably the same height as the outer vase

THAT'S IT! Oh, and amazing flowers your love picks you up :)

I originally used the vase you see above in the picture because I broke my OTHER vase I usually use and really had a bee in my bonnet to just GET THIS THING STARTED...but...I decided the shape of the bottom of the red vase rounded too much (meaning more hearts being used as filler...) So, I was resourceful, just like YOU can be!

Yep, I used a candle that was on it's last limb. The straight down shape worked PERFECTLY. and it was the perfect height.

(Filling the small vase with water first is pretty important, because if you did what I did before the tutorial pics, you will spill water all over your hearts while filling the smaller vase at the end. and you will get soggy hearts. Like this:

Side Note: I tried to put all the sassy negative hearts facing the inside. I didn't want to see "YOU WISH!" on my hearts :) I like all the "CALL ME" ones showing!

It's a Blog Party

Breakfast for Dinner

Snow Day #3...Wednesday Night...

Ordy Boy and I decided to have breakfast for dinner...only not the way my sister does it, but the way two people attempting to diet would... So... no french toast, no pancakes or waffles, and unfortunately no nutella **gasp** what kind of breakfast was it?!?! jk. It was hard to stay good. Ok, not so hard when my stomach would get in the way of performing minor duties such as opening drawers, or emptying the dishwasher... Ok, not really, but I'm persian- I {am expected to} exaggerate. 

Since I want nothing to do with touching sausage or bacon {or any red meat for that matter...} Ordy Boy had to make his own sausages. And I meant it when I said the two of us don't fit in my kitchen. We had to take turns doing stuff. I ended up making my strawberry shortcake and banana bread in the dining room {wait, what diet?}

And Bandit, alwaaaayyyys wanting to be a part of the action... was right in the middle. Yep, I tripped over him 30 times but that didn't bother him. He didn't dare take his sorry behind to the living room- crumbs don't fall there

It was fun to have Ordy Boy in the kitchen and sharing a part of the meal preparation. Not that he never does, but I just always note that it's nice :) Grateful. 

Anyway, back to my strawberry shortcake. I have had a hankering for some since before I vowed to lose weight. I went to many different restaurants before 12/31/10 to cheat- but would you believe strawberry shortcake is not in season when it's snowing outside??? i know, crazy. So it's been 2 weeks now and the craving has only gotten stronger since I've been locked inside with the bad weather...

So-I compromised. I made a fat-free, sugar-free, calorie-free, taste-free, in fact, it's doesn't even really exist... the following pictures are just a figment of your imagination. Let's use that imagination and pretend this tastes really really really good and incredible like one found on the cover of a Paula Deen 4th of July edition cookbook...

The red roses mirrors aren't always on my table...while being snowed in, I managed to get out all my VALENTINE'S DAY decorations! I'm SOOOO Excited. I can do that, right? Start decorating for 2/14/11 on 1/12/11... wait, I can't? Oh, that's too bad because everything is already out and it looks so dang cute. I'll post pic of the rest once I actually decide where everything is going to stay!

Honestly, I made the entire "strawberry shortcake" recipe up. I used the fat-free Angel Food cake and crumbled it up, with sliced frozen strawberries poured on top and fat-free cool whip... haha that's my version. I really was just in the mood to do something other than tv/internet/clean so I did that. Oh, and these:

The most incredible, moist nanner muffins ever. They are so good. I decided to make muffins just because I'm too lazy to bother using a knife, and when I bake a loaf- I spare the knife and eat the whole thing. In one sitting. It's true. Emily saw me do it in our Family Law class once. She brought a huge piece for both ORDY and I, and I ate the whole thing in class. Oops. {that explains why I am attempting to diet...}
