My New Obsession

I love sharing new obsessions with you guys!! When I got this little guy, I was SO EXCITED to post details I could hardly wait. Then I got online to see what other people thought about it and it looks like I'm not the only one who loves it... I found a bunch of blogs out there who use it just how I intended and it looks like I'm less original than I'd like...  BUT for those of you who haven't even seen what I'm talking about... I'll STILL post how I intended!

Ready to see what "IT" is?

Xyron sticker maker! I LOVE adding detail to my stationary and when I saw that I could make ANY of my cute ribbons into 'decorative tape' I could not stop thinking about getting one of this guys! You can pretty much make ANYTHING a sticker!

ribbon, ric rac, left over fabric... etc, anything can be made into a sticker... I'll show you STEP-BY-STEP how because when I first got it I was really intimidated... but now that I know how simple it is- it's ridiculous how scared I was!

Pick whatever you want to make a sticker... I went with this adorable lace ribbon

Feed it into the top left opening...

As you drop it in, pull the bottom right tape dispensing side

That's pretty much it! Start pulling however much you want!

When you have your desired length, cut off the ribbon and feed the rest through.

Once the end is out, rip the tape off

Use something hard to press the ribbon firmly onto the tape roll. I used the handle of my scissors...

Peel the cellophane-like top off

Peel your ribbon (now sticker) off the wax paper-like tape backing

That's it! Now you can decorate ANYTHING!

Like these plain jane brown stationary cards

Card + envelope... Joon-ified.

I know this might be "duh" for a lot of y'all, but even if ONE person finds it as exciting as I did, it was worth the post!! Imagine how cute packaging and gifting can be now!

I cut out a piece of textured card stock in the shape of a heart and made the cutest little sticker. Everything I see is now in danger of being turned into a sticker with this machine... I even tried dropping a button down the chute hahaha! I think my next purchase is "the big one"... haha let me know if you knew about this, or you're just so uber excited that I shared and can't wait to go get one!!!

  1. It's officially worth the post! I am ordering one of these today! I love, love, love adding ribbon to cards and it's always SUCH a pain or messy or you can see the glue, glue dots etc. through the ribbon. I'm always on the lookout for a good way to glue ribbon or fabric onto cards. This is officially awesome.

  10. I've had one of these for years and use it frequently. Like you, I went nutz when I first got it, but it's fun. When I have something "skinny" to feed through, I try to do 2 or more side-by-side as I run them through, thereby not wasting any of the sticker tape. BTW, you can get them ANYWHERE/EVERYWHERE once you know they exist! ;^)

  13. Love this! I have one too.
But do you know it's actually spelled 'stationery', not 'stationary'? I'm a stickler for that misspelling, sorry!
I just love your blog! :)
