Pottery Barn Duvet Wannabe

Sh... don't tell her, but Darla, my duvet, doesn't know it- but she's from Target...not Pottery Barn. Darla's twin sister lives in Pottery Barn waiting for a wealthy family to scoop her up for $170... while I picked Darla up for waaaayyy less. I pretty much knocked the "0" from the "170" and that's all I paid for Darla!

(She was originally $45, but then Target had her marked down to $15...so I bought 2. Ok, in a full disclosure policy I have on my blog I have to admit. I bought 3. I have 3 of the duvets. There, I said it.)
**I only got one for the $15 steal, so don't feel like I totally hit the jackpot.. the other two were $45 and STILL worth every penny!**

Anyhow. Here is Darla's fancy-pants twin "Hadley":


Guess what I realized in 0.002 seconds? DARLA IS MISSING BOWS!!! Of course I had to fix that. ASAP. I couldn't find thick ribbon that was the same material (basically ribbon that wasn't silky) so I went with a thinner version and LOVE it... it's not "too girly" almost like it was meant to be on there...

So, one spool of 1/2 inch ribbon later...







I think B-diddy approves :)

    It looks great! I have been drooling over the same duvet at PB for a while now... There was also a similar one at Anthropologie (they may still have it) I love too. Ah, champagne taste on a beer budget.

    Ahhh! I am Jealous! I want a white duvet to go with our bedding too. I haven't seen one of those awesome duvets at my Target, now I'm going to be coveting your duvet all day long.

    Thank you ladies!!! Y'all are all too lovely and kind - Darla is blushing :) hahah I had to buy 3 bc I was scared bandit might get to one and my sunless tanner would ruin another - 3 seemed like just the right amount for backup!!

    I have seen TONS of these at target! I feel bad! I wish I knew I would have bought them and shipped them out for y'all! I'll keep looking-

    What's the total cost for the room? I love your attempt to make it look diva girl! But I suggest you get a designer next time unless you want to stay single forever. :) lol. Just kidding sweaty. But for your future spouses sake, let us qualified designers help you. Love your blog. Chow

    hahaha um you design better THAN MOST DESIGNERS I'VE SEEN. And you get it all for amazing deals. I am in love with your blog... Don't listen to people and their opinions.
    Also if they were reading better they would know you have a future spouse lined up who is in love with you.
    Why would you stay single forever??? I'm so confused... "sweetpealovega" needs to go read your bio and love story maybe...

    Get a designer unless you want to stay single forever?! What a batch. I also think you meant sweetie; not sweaty. I highly doubt that comment came from a real designer. Sheila I think your room looks great and I'm not sure you're ever really going to have to worry about being single. You're hot

    Oh my goodness, what a gorgeous room! LOVE it! And you knocked it out of the park with finding that bedspread and adding the bows to it. Icing on the cake that you paid $17 for it. I luuurrrve me a good Target deal! :) (It cracks me up that you have three of them--I totally understand you. My husband wouldn't, but I do!)

    Jennygrl: It's not called anything :( it's not on the website but one similar is Simply Shabby Chic® Smocked Duvet Set - White. I just named her Darla bc I'm a nerd :)

    scrappychica: there's nothing to give a tutorial on- i'm not THAT crafty! haha I bought a duvet and added ribbons to the bottom! I wish I did this all from scratch!

    wow,what a bargain! could you post the dpc# for the duvet? I would like to search for this in my area. I've been wanting a white duvet cover for my daughter's room...and I just bought the same felt pillows @ ross on clearance for $5.49! gotta love a bargain!

    I have Darla too! She's the best! I bought her because she looked a lot like someone over at West Elm but then I found Darla on clearance at Target!
